The event likely to become a business travel calendar highlight.

SACO, the worldwide serviced apartment network took home the winner's trophy from The Business Travel Magazine's (TBTM) and The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) Dragon Boat day over the weekend.

The event, the first of what is hoped to become an annual business travel calendar event was attended by over 250 people with a total of 14 companies entering a team. Companies that took part included Eurostar, Continental Airlines, The Business Travel & Meetings Show, Silverdoor, OAG, Inntel, Omega World Travel, Drawbridge, who kindly provided shuttles transfers on the day and Principal Hayley Hotels who represented the Oakley Court hotel in Windsor where the event took place.

Speaking from the event Diane Steed, Head of Sales & Marketing for ITM said - "everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the participating companies seeing this as a great way to ‘team-build'. There was a lot of friendly competition out there but also some real determination from some teams to see off their business travel competitors & industry peers - I think everyone had a really good time".

David Clare, Publisher at The Business Travel Magazine and main organiser of this event said - "we set out with the intention that this would be a family day out for everyone within the business travel community, a good excuse to spend time together and have some fun. I think this was certainly achieved and based on the feedback we have had think there is a definite call for this event to become a business travel calendar highlight".

Jo Redman, Sales & Marketing Director for SACO said "SACO Blazing Paddles are delighted to be the proud winners of the inaugural TBTM and ITM Dragon Boat Racing Day! We never dared to dream that we would achieve such an amazing result and are very pleased to be able to support ITM's Project Icarus in such an enjoyable, if not exhausting, way!"

The ‘Spirit of ITM' team representing the associations Project ICARUS came 9th with The Business Travel Magazine's ‘Dragon Slayers' coming in with a very respectable second place finish.

The event was run by Team Activity Group (TAG), who are based at the Oakley Court hotel.
