ENTER THE DRAGONS
Have you ever had an idea for a new product or service that would revolutionise the way business travel is bought or supplied, but are reluctant to do anything about it for fear of being ridiculed?
Well now you can, because ITM has teamed up with Buying Business Travel and accommodation services company Go Native to present Enter the Dragons, our search for the person with the next big idea and celebration of innovation in our industry. A Mr R Branson need not apply!
Enter the Dragons differs from a certain TV programme because it's about the people rather than the idea. Our Dragons don't have a wad of cash ready to invest, but are instead looking to find the buyer or supplier with the most fertile imagination - and foresight! Your idea could be simple or it could be wacky. It could be a new piece of technology, a service enhancement or a new product entirely.
The only stipulations are:
- You can show how your idea would benefit business travel in general
- Your idea must not exist in the real world - yet
The four best Big Idea nominations will be invited to present their concepts during a special Enter the Dragons session on Wednesday 16th April. Those whose nominations are chosen will receive a VIP delegate place at the conference including free accommodation. The winner of the best Big Idea will also receive a very special prize which will be announced and awarded in Dublin by BBT's editor Mike Toynbee.
There's a second element to Enter the Dragons, because we're not only looking for the best new idea but also for what BBT readers consider to be the new business travel product of 2007/8. Whether it's Virgin Atlantic's new VIP check-in service or maybe ITM's Project ICARUS initiative, we'd like you to tell us what's impressed you most.
As with the best Big Idea, our panel of judged will be short listing four new products or services and then inviting a BBT reader to put the case for why their nomination should be chosen by the Dragons as the best in class. Once again, the ITM members whose ideas are short listed will each receive a VIP delegate place including free accommodation, and person nominating the product or service chosen as Best In Class will also get the chance to present a special award to the company concerned.
