ITM ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENT FOR SOUTH EAST REGIONAL CHAIR

Updated: 22-05-2009

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) has announced the appointment of Helen Day, Cambrian Mining plc, and Jan Pullen, Moodys Investment to the post of Joint South East Regional Chair as of the 1st June 2009. The post, a voluntary position assigned to lead each of ITM's six regions, had been undertaken in a caretaker role by Linda Elsdon, formerly of Merrill Lynch, since 2008.

Commenting on the appointment, ITM's chief executive, Paul Tilstone said, "I am delighted that Helen and Jan are taking up the joint post. The role requires a focus on providing regional support for members and with so many based in the South East a joint chair will ensure members are well catered for. The region has a history of creating great networking events for members and the committee can continue to build on the work they have done to date."

ITM is presently undertaking a board review of the role of the regions in light of a move two years ago to centralise education and the creation of a new on-line networking tool in July of this year. The review is expected to highlight the role of the regions in different types of social networking experiences for members.
