ITM first launched a programme of Supplier Training in 2007 and the courses have become incredibly popular. Supported by two professional training companies on behalf of ITM the courses essentially cover two levels, Introductory and Advanced.

Introductory Courses in partnership with T & T Training Solutions

ITM has teamed up with T&T Training Solutions to create a series of one-day introductory level courses for those who need an overview of presentation skills, account management or negotiation skills etc . These courses are designed for those relatively new to travel management in the supplier community or for operational staff with aspirations to move across to account management or sales.

David Wootton has been with T&T Training Solutions for the last 2 years in the capacity of Training Manager. David has many years experience in the Travel Industry after spending 18 years in various operational and managerial roles across many sectors. David also has a wealth of experience in developing and writing a number of Management and Soft Skills courses.

The association has teamed up with a second training partner - MG Training Solutions - for an advanced level series of courses in which there are limited places and coaching is more intense. These are the perfect refreshers for established supplier managers who want to refine their skills further.

The Course Trainer

Mark Gallen - Principle Training Consultant
Mark is the principal training consultant for MG Training. As the former Head of National Accounts for a major international hotel group, Mark is very aware of the challenges facing sales people. His sales career includes Vodafone, the Thomson Directory and Apple computers. He also worked for Carlson Wagonlit Travel negotiating client hotel programmes.
Mark's interest in encouraging individuals to make the most of their skills began on a personal development project with Operation Raleigh in Mongolia. Since then he's established a fresh, modern approach to sales training, using actor-based simulation and based on individual learning styles. He closely follows trends in hospitality sales to ensure his approach is relevant.
He holds a Certificate in Training Practice with the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, the recognised body for training qualifications in the UK, with a BSc in Hotel and Catering Management.
