Ian has been in the hospitality and events business for over 20 years. He started as a humble part time pot washer for THF where he acquired a taste for the industry. After qualifying (some years later) with a BSc Hones in Hotel Management he undertook sales roles in hotels and restaurants before joining what was IBR (now Zibrant) in 2000. Ian spent 7 happy years at Zibrant in sales and account management leaving as Head of Sales to join De Vere in 2007. He has recently been promoted to Director Group Sales responsible for the team of 5 managing De Vere's relationships with HBAs, TMCs and event management companies as well as running the newly established MICE team of 6 which will be managing De Vere's relationships with corporate and association event planners. Prior to his promotion Ian was Director of Agency Sales for De Vere. Ian is also a board director for ITM and an executive committee member of the HBAA. In his spare time in enjoys family time with his wife and two boys, tinkering with anything mechanical especially Land Rovers and his 1934 steam traction engine and he is also an avid fan of Welsh rugby, holding a debenture seat for the last 6 years at the Millennium stadium.
