Remit:- To represent the interests of the buyer membership by engaging and lobbying legislative bodies in the UK and Ireland, EU and beyond.
This group represent the interests of the buyer membership by engaging and lobbying legislative bodies in the UK & Ireland, EU and beyond. Since it's launch in 2006 IAG has established contact with members of parliament and submitted an Early Day Motion (EDM) in support of the association's Project ICARUS. The group also heavily lobbied the European Commission on the GDS De-Regulation process during 2007, culminating in a Customer Hearing in Brussels which publicly challenged the commission's recommended alterations to the code. The group continues to lobby on behalf of buyers only to ensure no conflict in its representation and because ITM believes that the interests of the ITM buyer membership are also the long term interests of the supplier membership.
The working party, which meets quarterly, comprises of the following directors and members:
