ISG was first created in 2006 to develop reasoning and solutions to key industry issues identified through research and education. In 2006, the ISG first looked at solutions for the disparity in managed travel programmes and compliance. In 2007, the remit of the ISG was to look at solutions for increasing SBT adoption.

The components of this group are re-established every time a new subject is set. ITM selects representatives from each of the stakeholder groups for the subject concerned. Whilst the group may contain some members of the board predominantly the members of this group come from the broader membership and staff from within their companies. For example, the ISG participants for the Compliance report comprised of...

  • A traveller who was non-compliant
  • A travel booker
  • Two travel managers
  • Two TMC representatives
  • An Airline representative
  • A Hotelier
  • A GDS representative
  • A Car Hire representative

The output from each of the Industry Solution Groups put together is a final report stating the issues concerned with the topic, the impact of these issues on each of the stakeholders and the solutions required/available, both on a local company level and as an industry.

Each of the ISG's is chaired by the ITM Executive Director.
