Award winning conference 2016

RLC has won Gold at the prestigious EVCOM Live award - for their work in producing the ITM Conference 2016. Recognising the very best work by agencies and the clients who commission them, the EVCOM Live Awards honour outstanding business and consumer events.
The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) brings the corporate buyer community together with travel industry professionals.
Our brief in organising the 2016 ITM Conference had been to provide the visual focus to celebrate the Institute’s 60th anniversary; also to create the climax to a year-long rebrand project that would see the reinstatement of the organisation’s identity - from the Institute of Travel & Meetings to the Institute of Travel Management.
To achieve this, we gave every part of the conference an extra twist, weaving three themes: Provocative, Disruptive and Personal, into the fabric of the event.
Highlights of the conference included Strictly ITM – the Institute’s very own version of the TV blockbuster dance series. This involved six ‘volunteer’ ITM contestants partnered by professional dancers and five months of meticulous planning and rehearsals – to ensure that Strictly ITM was professionally designed and choreographed down to the last sequin.
We also worked with 40 ITM members to produce a group dance. Again, the participants had been wooed earlier in the year, attending a pre-event rehearsal.
In keeping with the conference’s overriding theme of Power of the Past – Force of the Future, we ended the event with an inspirational keynote presentation by Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge. Famous for her skill in football management and for her role on The Apprentice, Karren Brady CBE was chosen for her ability to impart insights that would be relevant on an individual as well as a corporate level.
As a result of these and other compelling elements, the conference results topped those of 2015 with 400 delegates attending, representing a 21% increase. A stunning 96% of delegates pledged to attend the conference in 2017.
Delegates were enthused throughout the event, by a mix and balance of content that was at times provocative, disruptive, and very personal – ensuring phenomenal satisfaction levels - Simone Buckley, CEO ITM said: This has been the best ITM Conference ever... that’s down to you!
