Hi all,
I just wanted to start a conversation after the discussions we had on Tuesday regarding emergency situations and the events of yesterday. I must say I was disappointed in our TMC's actions and I was wondering how your TMC's responded to this?
I noticed at 4.30pm that our TMC had not sent out an alert and when I questioned them on this they said:
"No alert has gone out as only a very small area of London is affected and minimal travel disruption is being caused."
They changed their minds 10 minutes later and sent an email advising:
"Clients in London or planning to fly, should avoid the aforementioned area in the immediate-term. Persons in the city should abide by the directives and plan for disruptions."
This went to anyone with any form of travel that involves London (air, hotel, rail, car).
What actions did your TMC's take or did you manage internally?
Heather
To those buyer members from the North & Midlands attending our Manchester "Huddle" tomorrow I am really looking forward to catching up with you .
Here's to engaging and getting into the weeds on topics currently impacting our programs .
Safe travels .
Hi Everyone ,
Please see below message on behalf of Robbie.
I hope you are well.
I wanted to contact you to make sure that you were aware that we will be holding an ITM regional "Huddle", which will be talking place in central Manchester on Tuesday 21st March at the MacDonald Hotel & Spa.
ITM Huddles ( previously known as Focus Groups) are the perfect confidential platform for buyer members to come together and discuss key topics ,pain-points, identify/share best practice and get some top tips to improve your travel program.
Topics for discussion:
We've been asked to put topics such as Travel Risk and Cost Reduction on the agenda for this event , so there will be lots of insights for you to benefit from.
I would also welcome your input as to any top of mind subjects you have with your program right now for discussion, so that you get the most from your peer interaction. If you have any burning issues you would like the group to deliberate please let me know as happy to add to the agenda.
Myself and a number of the ITM North & Midlands committee will be present on the 20th March and we will be sharing details on our own programs including "Communicating with your travellers in a social and mobile world".
In addition I would like to share with you some of the changes to your ITM website along with some regional initiatives and future events we have planned for the region.
The event starts at 9.00am (with registration and coffee available from 8.30am) and closes at 13.30 (including a networking lunch).
I would really like to welcome you to this event so please register your place online at
of charge.
If you have any colleagues or friends who are Travel Buyers and who you feel would benefit from the event and you would like us to invite them please let me know.
If you are a connect buyer member, then I have a number of complimentary places I can offer, so please contact me directly.
