How does it feel to win an ITM Achievement Award?

I am over the moon! Everyone has been so kind and said such lovely things, really feeling the love.

How did you get into business travel?

By accident I left Sixth Form College with A Levels and GCSE’s but no real idea of what I wanted to do or even where to start. Luckily, I had a big brother in the industry who managed to get me my first interview at a hotel in reservations. Six months, I said to myself and nearly 10 years later I am still in the industry

What’s the best thing about your present job?

You get treated like a human! A lot of companies claim to treat their employees well but when times get tough, that all goes out the window. They understand that life happens and sometimes that means balancing life and work. Being able to do this and not being made to feel guilty is really important to me.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into the business travel industry?

Have fun with it. On the supply side, we offer our travellers a service, our attitudes and personality can really brighten someone’s day especially when they are having stress at work or missing home so try and make them feel welcome. It also makes the days more enjoyable if you have some fun along the way.

What’s the favourite place you’ve travelled to and why?

Anywhere with a gorgeous beach, bright sunshine, a cocktail and good food! It’s not too much to ask for, is it?
