Celebrating Excellence | 5 Minutes with Gabrielle Chateauneuf

Gabrielle Chateauneuf, Senior Account Manager with Agiito’s Account Management Team who won the Team Award for Service Excellence.

How does it feel to win an ITM Achievement Award?

In an industry full of passionate and highly skilled people, the team are humbled to have won the award. Whilst the Agiito Account Management Team took home the award, I want to give a big shout-out to all our amazing staff at Agiito as service excellence is most definitely a team effort - wider than just our team.

How did you get into business travel?

My very first job in the hospitality sector was a cream tea waitress! I then went on to work in various department in hotels throughout my teens. I applied to do physiotherapy at university, and was all set to go when I changed my mind at the very last minute and applied to do international hotel management instead. I worked in hotels after my graduation, then moved into the ‘dark side’ of TMCs almost five years ago. This industry gets under your skin and I love it!

What’s the best thing about your present job?

The people I work with (including of course Leanne Fowler, our Director of Account Management who is also an ITM Board Member). Everyone is so passionate and amazing at what they do.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into the business travel industry?

Do it - you won’t regret it! We work hard, but we also play hard!

What’s the favourite place you’ve travelled to and why?

I’m torn between Bermuda, where I went on honeymoon (with no kids) or Guadeloupe (with my children) - if you watch ‘Death in Paradise’ you’ll know how beautiful it is. Having said that, my safari in Tanzania was also amazing.

What would be your Desert Island item?

A good book to keep me company, or my husband. He’s good company and great in a crisis.
