Sue Jones is part of the expert judging panel for the 2026 ITM Achievement Awards. We’re unveiling the judges who will be assessing this year’s nominations, each bringing diverse backgrounds and a shared commitment to raising standards across business travel.

Why do awards like this matter?
Many people are “sole operators” in their organisations, with few (if any) colleagues really understanding our roles and responsibilities, so recognition from industry peers is so much more meaningful because they truly do understand.

How can recognition help drive positive change in this industry?
There are so many great people doing really clever things, but if we don’t share those success stories then we won’t benefit from the experience of others.

What trends or themes do you hope to see reflected in this year’s entries?
I would love to see recognition for those taking big, bold steps to make their travel programmes truly inclusive.

How do you personally define “impact”?
Being a force for positive change, personally and professionally at an individual, a group, a company, or an industry level.

What does success mean to you — and how do you measure it?
Personal success means enjoying my life, my work and my relationships, while maintaining a healthy balance in all things. Professional success has always been championing my team, pushing them forward and out of their comfort zones, and inspiring them to be the best they can be. I measure my success through the success of those I am responsible for leading.

Judging soundtrack: what are you listening to while reviewing entries?
An eclectic playlist ranging from heavy metal to opera, with a good dollop of pop and disco.

Dream guest for your table at the Awards ceremony and why?
Jilly Cooper because we would drink lots of champagne and be deliciously naughty.
